ELECTRIC CARS

Embrace the future of driving with an all-electric Lexus car that delivers power, efficiency, and a luxurious driving experience. With reduced fuel costs in comparison with a conventional car, and zero emissions at the tailpipe, you can enjoy a smooth journey wherever you go.

How does an electric car work?

An electric car or ‘EV’ (electric vehicle) runs on electricity only using a rechargeable battery to drive an electric motor to power the wheels.

Instead of refuelling with petrol you can simply recharge your battery by plugging into a charger at home or at one of the many public chargers across the country.

How far can an electric car travel?

The distance an electric car can travel before it needs to be charged is known as ’range’. Our electric cars boast a range of up to 271 miles* on the RZ and up to 279 miles* on the UX 300e.

As with any car, when your range decreases, you will need to refuel, and with an electric car, this means plugging in, at home, work or a convenient stop on your journey.

There are a number of factors that will impact your range including your driving style, traffic conditions, and outside temperature, you can take some actions to maximise your range on every journey.

Charging an electric car

Benefit from the convenience of charging your electric car at home, rather than having to visit a service station. We can help with installing an EV charger which is the easiest, and quickest way to charge at home. You can plug in to a domestic socket, but this is much slower than a dedicated charger.

For longer journeys, it helps to plan where to stop to recharge your car, with a growing number of charging stations, this is a simple change in the way you travel.

REMOTE CHARGING WITH LEXUS LINK+

There is an array of connected services developed for your electric car. When charging at home you can use your smartphone to remotely set the time you want charging to commence, the level of charge or even schedule that charging be completed by a set time. Other remote services include setting the climate control so that it’s just the right temperature on chilly mornings.

* This service is only used on the owner’s/registered keeper’s drive. You must not leave a parked vehicle unattended with the engine running whilst stationary on a public road.

How much does it cost to own a Lexus electric car?

Lexus electric cars can offer the advantage of being more cost-effective to run compared to traditional hybrid and conventional cars.

This is especially the case when it comes to charging if you take advantage of dedicated EV charging tariffs. Use our calculator to estimate how much it would cost to run a Lexus electric car, and compare it with another brand too.
